A history of Carrera
Created in 1956 . the brand was named after the Carrera Pan-American car race that inspired the brand. In the 1970s that Carrera started producing snow products including sunglasses and the first ski goggles. The brand branched out into prescription glasses in 1981 . bringing out two frames pitched towards a sporty look. Carrera also pioneered interchangeable lenses and folding glasses. Carrera ski goggles found fame at the 1988 Calgary Olympics and the first Carrera cycling collection followed in 1989. The Carrera brand celebrated its 50th birthday in 2006 with an eyewear range that now includes prescription glasses, sunglasses and goggles.
