A history of Bvlgari
Sotirio Bulgari, a descendent of Greek silversmiths, founded Bvlgari in 1884 when he moved to Italy to set up a Rome-based jeweller’s. The business stayed in the family and later expanded to New York in the 1970’s followed by Paris, Geneva and Monte Carlo. Bvlgari’s success led to a diversification in line and in 1998, Bvlgari Eyewear was added. Since this time the brand has further diversified into luxury hotels and resorts. Bvlgari has been setting the pace for Italian jewellery for over a hundred years now, merging Greek and Italian classical style with utter lavishness.
